Are you damaging your car paint or actually washing your car? It’s important to always use proper washing and drying techniques. Swirl marks that disfigure your car are, in part, caused by poor washing technique. Regular washes and careful hand-drying is the best care that you can give your vehicle. Improper techniques not only impede the longevity of your car, but cause scratches in the paint, requiring compounding or polishing. You can avoid these problems and save yourself time by following a few simple tips when washing and drying your vehicle. Watch our video for great tips in keeping your car sparkling!

01: ENGINE & TIRE CLEANER

Wanting to achieve that new vehicle feel with shiny rims? Spray your tires and engine down with our engine and tire cleaner. It is recommended to focus on one area at a time, so that the cleaner does not dry. After the cleaner has soaked for a few minutes, use our strong jet hose to rinse the entire area clean.

  • Press selector to ENGINE/TIRE CLEANER.
  • Wash entire engine and/or tires, let soak and rinse off.

04: HIGH PRESSURE SOAP

Start washing the car from the top and working your way to the bottom. Also remember to wash down the vehicle as opposed to front to back. Make a few overlapping passes too. Since the lower panels are dirtiest, the experts at Suds Car Wash recommend cleaning the windows and upper panels before cleaning the lower half, which will prevent transferring grit to the top half of the vehicle.
  • Squeeze trigger. High pressure.
  • Press selector to WASH/SOAP.
  • Apply high-pressure soap to entire vehicle.
  • Wash vehicle from top to bottom.

05: HIGH PRESSURE RINSE

Rinse the car completely with water to get rid of any loose dirt and dust accumulated on the surface. The purpose of rinsing before washing is to remove contaminants so they do not scratch the paint as they slide off the vehicle. The team at Suds Car Wash says that it is beneficial to rinse your vehicle from top to bottom. By starting at the top, you will avoid sliding dirt into your previously rinsed area.
  • Squeeze trigger. High pressure.
  • Grip wand firmly.
  • Press selector to RINSE.
  • Rinse from top to bottom.

06: SPOT FREE RINSE

Follow up with spot free rinse! If your car needs more specific attention, use a Foam Brush and Engine & Tire Cleaner. Suds Car Wash uses purified tap water that has all the minerals removed to avoid scratches and ensure that residual water won’t leave any spots.
